Twenty-minute appointments, by design.

Apricot Flint Clinic is a small independent practice built around longer consultations, continuity with one named clinician, and written plans you can take home. Registration is open to new patients.

Two urgent-review slots are held back each morning for registered patients.
Duty clinician
A duty GP covers every weekday session for advice and acute problems.

How we triage

Every enquiry is read by a clinician before a slot is offered, so you are booked into the right length of appointment first time — a nurse review, a standard twenty-minute consultation, or a double slot for complex or multiple problems.

Care pathways

Four lanes of care, so you know where you fit

Each pathway has its own appointment length and its own clinician group. If you are unsure which applies, describe the problem in the enquiry form and we will place you.

Pathway 01

Everyday general practice

Short-term illness, skin and joint problems, mental health first conversations, test requests and interpretation.

  • Twenty-minute standard consultation
  • Double slot available for two or more problems
  • Phlebotomy on site during morning sessions

Pathway 02

Long-term condition reviews

Structured annual and six-month reviews for asthma, diabetes, blood pressure, thyroid and chronic pain.

  • Bloods and measurements taken a week before
  • Thirty-minute review with your named clinician
  • Written plan and medication changes in one visit

Pathway 03

Women’s and family health

Contraception and coil fitting, menopause consultations, cervical screening, infant checks and childhood illness.

  • Dedicated Wednesday afternoon session
  • Longer first menopause appointment
  • Child slots kept open at the start of each session

Pathway 04

Travel and vaccination

Pre-travel risk assessment, routine and seasonal immunisation, and catch-up schedules for adults and children.

  • Risk assessment at least six weeks before travel
  • Seasonal flu clinics on Saturday mornings
  • Vaccine record issued at the end of the visit

Your visit

What happens, step by step

A first visit takes about forty minutes in total, including registration. Here is the whole sequence, from enquiry to follow-up, with nothing left to guess.

  1. Send the enquiry

Tell us the problem in a sentence or two and the session that suits you. A clinician reads it the same working day.

  2. Receive your slot and prep

We reply by email with a time, the clinician’s name, the appointment length, and anything to bring or stop beforehand.

  3. Arrive and register

New patients complete a one-page health history on arrival. There is step-free access and a quiet waiting room away from reception.

  4. The consultation

Your clinician has read your notes before you sit down. Examinations, bloods and basic imaging referrals are arranged in the room.

  5. Plan and follow-up

You leave with a written summary: what we think, what we ruled out, what happens next, and who to contact if things change.

Clinical team

Four clinicians, one of them yours

Every registered patient is assigned a named clinician and keeps them for routine care. You can ask to change at any time, without giving a reason.

Sessions & practical notes

When we run, and what to bring

Session times are fixed so you can plan around them. Bloods are always taken in the morning; procedures and reviews sit in the afternoon.

Bring these with you

It saves the first five minutes of your appointment and avoids a second visit.

  • A list of current medicines, including anything bought over the counter
  • Any home readings — blood pressure, peak flow, blood sugar
  • Letters or results from other clinics, if you have them
  • Photographs of a rash or swelling that comes and goes
  • The name of anyone attending with you as an advocate

Questions

Asked often, answered properly

If your question is not here, put it in the enquiry form — the reply comes from a clinician, not a template.

How do I register as a new patient?

Send the enquiry form and choose “Register as a new patient” as your reason. We reply with a registration link and a short health questionnaire, then book a twenty-minute first appointment so a clinician can go through your history properly rather than at reception.

Will you be able to see my previous medical records?

Once you are registered we request your records from your previous practice, which usually takes two to four weeks to arrive. Your first appointment does not wait for them — bring any letters, repeat prescription slips or results you already hold and we work from those in the meantime.

Can I bring a child to my own appointment?

Yes. Consultation rooms have space for a pram and there is a low table with books in the quiet waiting area. If the appointment is likely to involve an examination or a difficult conversation, tell us in the enquiry and we will offer a session time when a second member of staff can sit with your child.

Is an interpreter available?

Our clinicians between them work in Norwegian, French, Spanish and Irish as well as English. For any other language we book a telephone interpreter for the appointment at no cost to you — request it in the enquiry form so the slot is extended to allow for it.

What are the access arrangements?

Entry, reception, both consultation rooms and the treatment room are step-free and on one level, with an accessible toilet and a hearing loop at the desk. If you need a ground-floor room with extra space for a wheelchair or a quiet arrival away from the waiting room, say so when you enquire.

How do repeat prescriptions and cancellations work?

Repeat requests placed before midday are reviewed the same working day; new medicines or anything overdue a review are held until your clinician can check it. For cancellations, give us as much notice as you can — released slots go to patients waiting for an urgent review that day, and there is no charge for a cancelled appointment.

Request an appointment

Tell us what you need, in your own words

One short form. A clinician reads every enquiry the same working day and replies by email with a slot, a clinician name and an appointment length.

Please do not use this form for an emergency or for anything that cannot wait until the next working day — contact your local emergency service instead.

We use what you write only to arrange and prepare for your appointment.
